Average Vietnamese fare on the Vic street strip. Spring rolls were a bit dry, and the dipping sauce was not that punchy. The same sauce served with the vermicelli, which left it a bit watery towards the bottom of the bowl. Also, the beef betel leaf lacked something...just ok nothing special. Partner ordered the soup and asked for no coriander...and it came out with coriander swimming in it. Staff offered to replace with something else, which, while it was a nice gesture, she declined.
The place has common Vietnamese vibe in Melbourne with similar decoration to other ones. It's quite cozy though. I heard the place is famous with its Spicy noodles (Bun Bo Hue) but I decided to try the Fermented noodles (Bun Mam) because I really miss the taste of it. Bun Mam here is quite different from the traditional flavor but still good. The broth texture was balanced well not to be too salty. The price is affordable too. Will try Bun Bo Hue next time.
Been here a few times, usually get the Banh Xeo! Good serving and so delicious ! Also recommend the chicken and salted fish fried rice so good! Friendly service everytime I go :)
I dropped in to Co Do for a bowl of bun bo hue on my way home from the city. The soup itself is quite tasty and they are very generous with the amount of meat, which is a huge plus in my eyes. However, the noodles were a bit soft from being overcooked. The broth was not as spicy as I usually like but that was nothing a bit of sriracha and chili oil couldn't fix. But unfortunately the staff were not all that friendly on the day I visited and a smile from me was usually met with a blank expression.
Soups were cold and when I told the waitress it was cold, they smiled walked away.
All other meals were warm and tasteless. Overpriced.
The Chili Beef Soup (Bún Bò Huế) ($17.50) was very mediocre. The taste was all over the place, the beef was somewhat ok, but the soup was far from great. The whole thing felt like a jumbled mess that could have been prepared better. The noodles most likely weren't rice noodles, which is a shame. The quantity for a medium size was good, although an additional $1 was charged for it on the Uber Eats app for some reason. The soup had a fishy taste to it. The soft drink ($4.50) made the dish manageable.
Still, the food was delivered quite fast, all things considered but I didn't have a good experience.
It is ok. fresh veges, food tastes 6/10• Veges 10/10• Three colour drink 🍸2/10 nah nah I didn't like it! 🫥🫣 Services 7/10. Good Locations• we were on the crossing light ✨️ and we straight to this restaurant because we were both hungry• What it really needs to improve is services, when the customers are seated you need to give them water or tea, we were waiting with empty cups no water given. after you give the customer the menu, please you need to come and take the orders. I constantly turn around to get someone to take our order. the customer no need to raise a hand to order unless the customer was having a meal and needed something else to add to her/his food. It is really good if your service learns and works professionally• I hope it will be better next time•
Not a bad place. Cheap, standard Vietnamese dishes. I got the crispy chicken with tomato rice alongside an avocado smoothie. Chicken was a bit dry but not bad. Rice was lightly tomatoey but the avocado smoothie was the star of the night. Super creamy, refreshing and lightly sweet.
